ROBERT JASON BELL

February 6, 1983 - January 24, 2021

Robert Jason Bell, a church music director and musician of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on January 24, 2021 at the age of 37 after having recently moved to Honolulu, Hawaii. Jason is survived by husband, Andrew Preston Spencer; his precious dogs, Alana and Isabella; parents, Robert Bell, Sr. and Holly Hall Goddard; Stepfather, David Goddard; brother Lonnie Goddard; grandfather, Carl Hopper; nephew, Oliver Goddard and a whole host of friends, family and co-workers that loved him dearly. He is predeceased by his grandmother Neliah Hopper. Jason was born in Nashville on February, 6, 1983 to Robert Bell Sr and Holly Hall Goddard. He graduated from the University of Memphis in 2004 with a degree in Piano Performance and worked as a musician and music director in numerous churches, musical theatre productions, the American Queen Steamboat and taught piano students through out the Greater Memphis, Nashville and Kansas City area. On January 2, 2014, he married Andrew, a musician in the United States Navy. Jason was a devoted husband, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He enjoyed playing piano, cooking lasagna, raisinets, speaking the lang, traveling, spending time with friends and family. He was always concerned with the well-being of others, whether it be a kind word or a hug he always made sure to make anyone feel included. He has traveled to Europe, Central America and across the United States during his live. He loved the people of the churches that he worked in and most recently the congregations of Epiphany Lutheran Church of Collierville, Tennessee and Smithville First Christian Church of Smithville, Missouri. He will be extremely missed by his friends, family and all that knew him. A memorial service was held on February 25 online via Facebook/Zoom through Drew Spencer. Rev. Troy Ann Poulopoulous will officiate.
